“Scenes of Scotland”
A celebration of contemporary Scottish artists and themes.
Showing until 25th August 2019.
Lee Craigmile grew up in the West of Scotland where he first developed his interest in the Scottish landscape and his passion for painting. In 2012 Craigmile moved to Florence, Italy to study traditional painting techniques at the prestigious Florence Academy of Art. Since returning to Scotland in 2015 Lee has developed a strong International following.
His work successfully depicts his love of nature and atmosphere through rich painterly brushstrokes, expressing the beauty of the world around him as faithfully as possible, whilst conveying the emotional feel of his subject. He paints from life, whether it be en plain air or in the studio.
Followed by Jackie Henderson, Lewis Mackenzie and Linda Park.
The Atelier Gallery was created in 2018 to encourage the creation and presentation of original art in a welcoming environment. Easing the journey from studio, through framing and presentation to gallery and then buyer, the artist is represented with a body of work so that viewers can be closer to the artist, their mindset, motivations and inspiration. We will be showcasing a carefully selected group of established and emerging artists, many of whom are new to the Edinburgh art scene.
